A visit from the Queens Baton Relay

The Queen's Baton Relay is a much loved tradition of the Commonwealth Games and symbolises the coming together of all Commonwealth nations and territories in preparation for the four-yearly festival of sport and culture.  Ahead of Glasgow’s 2014 Commonwealth Games, the Queens Baton has been continuing its tour of Scotland. On route to the Falklands, the baton made a stop on the Ascension Island; The Island is the location of RAF Acension Island.

Bell Group are currently carrying out redecoration works to the islands RAF buildings, our 3 month stay coincided with the Queens Baton tour and some of our men were lucky enough to have a photo op with the baton!
