Bell Group Win Johnstones Community Spirit Award

We are delighted to have been awarded the Johnstones Community Spirit award for our work with the ACANE Community Centre in the Byker Wall Estate in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

ACANE (African Community Advice North East) provides support to African refugees and asylum seekers living in the North East of England. The service provides advocacy, information and advice, operates a drop in service and runs occasional activities and training courses at weekends.

Bell Group Apprentice of the Year

In June 2015 Dundee and Angus College held their annual Prize Giving Ceremony. The college hold this event every year to enable students to celebrate their acheivements and qualifications.

This year two of Bell Group (Aberdeen)'s apprentice were nominated and won their categories. Steven Scott won 1st Year Apprentice of the Year and Conor Simpson won 2nd Year Apprentice of the Year.

In addition, Steven and Conor picked up 1st place in the 'Craft Team Event' at the Scottish Association of Painting Craft Teachers (SAPCT) skills competition held in Ayr.

Fusion 21 Framework - No1 Contractor

Bell Group is delighted to have re-secured their place as no1 contractor on Fusion 21’s painting and repairs framework.

Over the duration of the last term we created in excess of 80 long term positions for Painters & Decorators, Joiners and Apprentices and have committed to creating over 40 more within the next term; in addition we will be taking on 4 new apprentices each year of the 4 year contract.

We look forward to another successful 4 years as part of the Fusion 21 team.

PDA Premier Trophy Award Nomination

Delighted to confirm Bell Group Leeds have been nominated for a PDA Premier Trophy Award for their works at Endcliffe Hall, Sheffield. 

The PDA Premier Trophy Awards began in late 1987 to improve the press coverage of the sector, demonstrate the diversity of skill and craft, demonstrate efficiency to clients, and develop the highest standards of excellence for the industry. The competition is now in its 26th year and still holds true to these objectives.

The Mark Scott Leadership for Life Award

Bell Group is delighted to be working with The Mark Scott Leadership for Life team. The Foundation was formed in 1996 in memory of Mark Scott, a 16 year old Glasgow schoolboy who was murdered in 1995 in an unprovoked sectarian attack.

Since its inception the Foundation has made over 400 awards to individual young people living in or closely connected with Scotland. The participants are drawn from different social, economic, religious and cultural backgrounds, to work together to deliver a project to benefit their local community.

Bramblebrook Community Centre Project

Bell Group were recently involved in the refurbishment of the Bramblebrook Community Centre, Derby. The project was a great success and the Centre was re-opened by MP Chris Williamson and Councillor Asaf Afzal on the 19th December 2014.  They were joined by many of the local residents, the ward Councillors together with Derby Homes, council officers, representatives of Bell Group and other organisations who had contributed.

Bell Group North West, The Grand Opening

On Friday the 25th of July, Bell Group North West was delighted to be able to open its doors to clients, partners and suppliers and toast our new premises in Warrington.

Bell Group has had a presence in the area since 2000 with our office based in Chorley; however, due to continued growth in the area we made the move to larger premises.

CEO Sleepout

On a cold and damp October evening Bell Group Regional Director, Paul Steedman joined 44 other business executives to take part in the CEO Sleepout in Newcastle to raise funds and awareness for homelessness and poverty in the City.

New Gorbals Housing Association

Social Housing

New Gorbals Housing Association aims to provide the highest possible quality housing, environment and services to all of their customers and to contribute to the overall regeneration of the Gorbals whilst addressing the needs of the most disadvantaged in the community.

Project Work

Bell Group first carried out redecoration works for New Gorbals Housing Association in 1999 and has operated a partnership since 2005 successfully carrying out all planned decoration works internally and externally to residential properties owned and managed by the Association. In addition, in 2012, we were awarded the reactive repairs and maintenance contract, where we carry out various works including full refurbishment of void properties to reactive minor works in occupied premises - flooring replacements, redecorations, electrical fixes, plumbing, furnishing repairs and minor roofing repairs.

End Result

Works are still on-going, however to date, works have exceeded the agreed timescales and costs have and are continuing to be saved.
