As part of an international exchange, Bell Group recently hosted a student from Germany. Pia Bennemann from Ascheberg, Germany had been studying level 3 painting and decorating and was offered by her college the chance to come to the UK to learn new skills and gain valuable experience in another country.

Our team in the East Midlands have been working with Pia for the past few weeks and have been impressed with how keen she was to learn.

Darren Pulfrey, Branch Manager said “Hosting an exchange student is a first for me. However, we have really enjoyed getting to know Pia and sharing our knowledge with her to put into practice. She’s done a great job and we look forward to keeping in touch and seeing where her career goes.”

Pia Bennerman explained, “When my college gave us the opportunity to work in the UK, I jumped at the chance. Some of the things I have been taught are different from what I have learnt back home and I look forward to sharing my experience with my class mates.”

The international exchange is part of a programme run by Lincoln College in the East Midlands and Freiherr-vom-Stein Berufskolleg in Werne, Germany. The programme offers students that are studying a variety of subjects, the opportunity to experience work in other countries with local suppliers.
